Supporting the health and wellness of our neighbors is important to the Clinton County Foundation. As such, we are collaborating on a county wide health needs assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to identify major health problems, gaps in services and other factors which may contribute to less-than-optimal health status for residents of our community. Community health needs assessment surveys for Clinton County were completed in 1996, 2001, 2015 and 2020. Results of the most recent study can be read here. Diabetes, mental health, nutrition, physical activity and weight were all identified as areas of concern for our community in 2020.
The public is invited to complete the survey and share their health concerns, so providers and nonprofits better understand how to address the public’s needs.
“Public participation in this survey is paramount to helping community leaders hear about health concerns in our community,” shared Jeff Drapalik, President, Clinton County Foundation and member of HealthFirst.
The survey is available and open until August 15, 2025. To participate, copy and paste this link into a browser to start a unique session for your survey: https://www.prcsurvey.com/response/participate
No personal data is collected, and all responses are anonymous.
Key healthcare professionals who have a broad interest in the health of the community – both individuals and organizations – will also be invited to participate in this online survey including physicians, public health representatives, other health professionals, social service providers, and a variety of other community leaders. Potential participants were chosen because of their ability to identify primary concerns of the populations with whom they work, as well as of the community overall.
The 2025 sponsors of this important research share a common goal of investing in Clinton County for lasting and positive impact. Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national consultant, will conduct a countywide survey. Since they conducted the previous assessment, they have knowledge about our community that will assist in their research. Partnering with organizations in our community is central to amplifying the impact of this data and demonstrates the commitment these partners have to the health of Clinton County residents. Sponsors of the 2025 survey include:
- Clinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities
- Clinton County Commissioners
- Clinton County Foundation
- Clinton County Health District
- Clinton Memorial Hospital
- HealthFirst
- Kettering Health
- Mental Health Recovery Board (serving Warren and Clinton Counties)
“This countywide survey is a regular touchpoint that provides the Clinton County Health District with direct feedback and data…information that guides our healthcare initiatives and priorities. That’s why it’s so vital that Clinton County residents of all ages and diverse perspectives complete this critical survey,” explained Monica Wood, Director of Administration, Clinton County Health District.
A final report providing valuable guidance for future programming and investment in the community will be issued in the fall of 2025 and be presented to the community, nonprofits, and our funding partners.
