The Clinton County Community Band has received an Amazon ChangeX grant of $10,000 to purchase music stands and other equipment to support their residency at The Murphy Theatre. The Community Band has called The Murphy Theatre home since May 2022 after many decades of rehearsing in the Wilmington High School band room. Moving to The Murphy Theatre gave the band the opportunity to invest in chairs, music stands, percussion instruments, and other equipment specific to their stage. This funding from Amazon ChangeX allows completion those purchases.
The Community Band performs year-round and rehearses on the Murphy Theatre stage every Tuesday at 7pm. New members are always welcome, and no audition is required. They welcome interested musicians to just stop by a rehearsal and sit in with us to gauge your interest, or call the musical director, Eric Stanton at 937-218-2604 with questions.
The Amazon Clinton County Community Fund is a $100,000 initiative hosted on the ChangeX platform to support local grassroots projects in Clinton County, Ohio. This localized fund ties into Amazon’s expanding corporate footprint in the area at the Wilmington Air Hub. It targeted projects in the areas of:

- STEM and Future Workforce Development
- Culture & Heritage
- Hunger & Homelessness
