The Rick Moyer Legacy Foundation awarded its adult learner scholarship to Jonathon Pizzo, former Marine, who plans to attend Wilmington College this semester. Johnathon has participated in the annual Pump and Run fundraiser, organized by Vital Fitness, which raises funding annually for the scholarship and honors the memory of former prosecutor Rick Moyer.
This former Marine works full time, supports his family, and is returning to college to pursue mental health studies to work with veterans in our community. Since Jonathon moved to Wilmington two years ago, he has become familiar with the career and legacy of Rick Moyer and expresses his appreciation to the family and supporters of the Pump and Run Fundraiser.
“This is a responsibility I don’t take lightly, and I give my word that I will continue to strive for academic excellence and make use of your excellent gift,” says Jonathon.
The Rick Moyer Legacy Foundation is a scholarship fund managed by the Clinton County Foundation for the benefit of our community. Opportunities exist for nontraditional educational paths as well as traditional high school seniors.
