Students / Current Recipients
Congratulations on being awarded a scholarship through a fund administered by the Clinton County Foundation. You may be wondering what happens next. Below are answers to some common questions to help you get started.
That’s a great idea! Behind every scholarship is a person, family, or organization that established it as a way to support our community by investing in education. However, the founder is often not directly involved in the review and selection of scholarship applications. This is why they appreciate hearing from recipients like yourself to learn more about your goals.
Please send your thank you letter to:

You will get an email requesting you to upload specific information through our Scholarship Portal. Once you’ve provided the necessary items, the check will be mailed directly to your school.
Yes, you can. However, most financial aid programs offer assistance based on a student’s “unmet need,” which is typically calculated using a formula like this:
Cost of Attendance MINUS Expected Family Contribution (EFC) = Your Unmet Need
A scholarship from an outside group will likely reduce your unmet need, thus reducing the size of the financial aid package you can receive from a college or the federal government. Your school’s Financial Aid office is a great resource for information and advice to help you make the best financial decision for your needs. Share your scholarship award information with your school representative.
Your ongoing eligibility depends on the type of scholarship you receive. If your scholarship requires you to be enrolled in a certain school or major, it will only be available to you as long as you meet the criteria. For instance, if you change your major or school before or during the school year, or any time during a renewable period, your scholarship will no longer be available. However, if you complete the scholarship term, you will not be required to repay the funds you used.
You will receive a scholarship renewal email from us via the portal. Make sure you keep your contact information up to date in the portal.
