Local nonprofits, governmental entities, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, and others who have partnered with a fiscal sponsor are invited to apply for a grant through the LEGACY Fund.
The LEGACY Fund, which stands for Local Endowment for Governments and Charities for Years, wants to improve the welfare of Clinton County in areas such as health, wellness, seniors, youth, and education through project-based funding. The first step in the application process is a letter of intent, which summarizes the project. It should highlight community needs and alignment to the LEGACY Fund’s mission to support the health, well-being, and safety of Clinton County residents.
The deadline for the letter of intent stage is March 1, 2026. All applicants apply online with the Clinton County Foundation. Information about the grant process may be found on either the LEGACY Fund website: clintoncountylegacyfund.org or our website at https://clintoncountyohiofoundation.org/nonprofits/#opportunities
Last year, the LEGACY Committee awarded over $298,000 in grant funding to eleven Clinton County non-profit organizations.
The LEGACY Fund committee members are Joe Hete, Michelle Morrison, Sue Pierson, Kerry Steed, and Kyle Wilson. The committee reviews all submitted applications and selects which applicants will be invited to the second step, which is a full grant application. The deadline for the full application is June 1, 2026.
About the Legacy Fund
The LEGACY Fund was established in 2019 at the Clinton County Foundation with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Clinton Memorial Hospital by the Clinton County commissioners. The Foundation has invested those assets wisely and is committed to ensuring that annual distributions will be available to the community through the LEGACY Fund and its committee.
